Meat and poultry products are perishable products and require safe handling in home and restaurant kitchens to ensure that they are safe when served. Every package by law must contain a “safe handling label” that advises consumers about steps they should take to ensure safety.
The industry takes its responsibilities to empower customers with food safety information very seriously and has developed print, web and video education materials on a host of topics.
These resources are offered to consumers, meat and poultry companies and to retail supermarkets free as part of a commitment to farm to table safety.
